Ice karting in Levi: sessions, height rule and transfers
Updated October 28, 2026 · 5 min read
Ice karting in Levi is not ordinary indoor karting moved outside. The track is ice, the tyres are studded and the point is learning how the kart slides. The programme is short enough to combine with skiing or a safari, but the advertised duration includes more than laps.
What the bookable experience includes
The Two-Session Ice-Karting Experience with Optional Transfer is listed for roughly one to one and a half hours. Its description includes two driving sessions with a hot-juice break between them; transfer is optional. The official Levi destination page describes studded tyres and says previous driving experience is unnecessary.
Two sessions are useful rather than decorative. The first is often spent understanding steering and grip; the second gives you a chance to apply it. Do not read the total programme time as continuous track time. Briefing, putting on equipment, the break and changing drivers are included around the driving.
The participation threshold
Levi’s official activity information states that drivers must be over 145 cm tall. Treat that as a driving threshold, not as a promise that every child of that height will enjoy or be accepted on every departure. Check the operator’s current conditions and have height confirmed if someone is close to the boundary. No ordinary road driving licence is advertised as necessary for this closed-track activity, but the operator’s instructions remain decisive.
The official information says winter racing equipment is supplied, including helmet, balaclava, shoes, gloves and overalls. Wear warm base layers anyway. You spend part of the programme waiting rather than generating heat, and exposed fingers cool quickly when handling a wheel.
Transfer or travel independently?
An included or optional transfer is useful when your accommodation is central and nobody wants to drive afterwards. If you travel independently, check the exact venue and arrival time rather than searching only for “Levi ice karting”. Arriving late can cost track time because safety briefings and sessions run as a group.
Compare the checkout total with and without transfer. The tour listing and the venue’s direct programme may package transport differently, so compare like with like rather than using one headline price.
Who will enjoy it?
Ice karting suits friends, couples and families whose drivers clear the height threshold and want a controlled dose of speed. It is a poor choice for someone expecting a long-distance excursion or uncomfortable with sliding. Spectators and non-drivers should confirm whether they can wait indoors or in a heated area.
Before booking, verify the 145 cm rule, session structure, supplied clothing, transfer, spectator arrangements and cancellation policy. The appeal is focused: a couple of sessions learning to control a studded kart on ice. That makes it an excellent compact activity, but not a substitute for a snowmobile journey through the landscape.
